Biography:
Teresa Skuggeld is a music educator and professional performer with a strong commitment to student-driven classical music education. She holds a Bachelor of Arts from Linfield University and has been teaching music since the age of 15, developing a deep understanding of pedagogy, mentorship, and individualized instruction.
As a performer, Teresa Skuggeld has participated in an international university performance program in Germany and has appeared with numerous ensembles throughout the Pacific Northwest, including Seattle Gilbert & Sullivan, Pacific Northwest Opera, and the Northwest Savoyards. She currently performs with the Everett Philharmonic and maintains an active career as a freelance musician.
In addition to performing and teaching, Teresa serves on the Board of Directors for the Whidbey Island Orchestra, contributing to artistic planning and community engagement. Her teaching philosophy centers on empowering students through classical music, fostering both technical excellence and personal expression.
When Teresa is not engaged with her music, she maintains her and her husband’s farm and spends time with her family.
