Biography:
Elizabeth Hendricks is a navy wife and mother of 5 who has has only lived on Whidbey Island for 2 years but loves it! She received her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in Vocal Performance and a minor in piano performance from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. There she performed as a soloist with the university symphony and had lead and supporting roles in numerous operas. After graduating she sang professionally with Union Avenue Opera Theatre in St. Louis as a member of the chorus in Puccini’s Tosca. After taking many years off and while living in Okinawa, Japan, Elizabeth had the opportunity to be the soprano soloist for the annual Messiah concert including a combined Japanese/American chorus and Okinawa Symphony members. She studied voice with Baritone Maeda Shinichiro and sang as a soloist in local charity concerts as well. Currently, she is a member of the Whidbey Community Chorus and is delighted to be joining Pacific Northwest Opera’s chorus in their upcoming fall production of La Traviata! Elizabeth is classically trained in both voice and piano but enjoys all genres of music. She previously had a large studio of both voice and piano students and taught for over 10 years before becoming a mother and is really excited to be teaching again!
