Biography:

Ashley Cappelli is a military spouse who has been singing for 16 years and teaching music for the past six years. She is from Marcy, New York and received her bachelor's degree in Music Education/Vocal Performance from SUNY Fredonia and her master’s degree in Vocal Pedagogy from UNC Greensboro.

She started in community theater singing in the chorus of RENT, Hairspray, Chicago and even performed the role as Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast. Ashley has premiered the orchestral debut of John Musto’s Bastianello, performing the roles of Amadora, Ettalina and Stelladora, with the Western New York Chamber Orchestra. She has appeared in roles such as Sycorax from Enchanted Island and Ruth from Pirates of Penzance in the Fredonia Opera House, as well as Gertrude in UNCG’s scenes production of Louise. She performed the role of La Maestra Delle Novizie from Puccini’s Suor Angelica in Urbana, Italy while spending a summer in the Si Parla, Si Canta program.
